Leftovers

Tonight's dinner was leftover pizza and it was just as good tonight as it was last night. I also ate a couple pieces for lunch this afternoon. I still can't get over how good it was! It is definitely something I'm going to make again. I got 3 meals out of one pizza! I can't remember the last time a pizza went that far in this house.

Eating like a Queen

I spent this afternoon next to my wonderful husband looking for new dishes to try. Not a bad way to spend a day, huh? Now that I'm having to entirely change the way I eat and what I eat, my husband is also making some changes. I told you he was great! Anyway, we found some pretty good recipes for tonight's dinner. Unfortunately, my husband didn't like his. But, my dinner was freaking awesome!

Trying Something New

Trying new foods is going to be a new occurrence in my house until I reach my goal. I have to admit that I'm a little scared to try some of the recipes I've found but I saw a quote the other day that really fits - "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Neale Donald Walsch Isn't that the truth?!

Research & Experimenting

Today is supposed to be a day of rest but that never happens for me. Sure, I don't do much on Sundays but there's still work that needs to be done. Laundry in my house is a never-ending chore and one that I despise. I can wash clothes all day but, when it comes to folding them, I just want to disappear. Anyway, I spent this afternoon researching diabetic meal plans. Although I haven't been diagnosed as a diabetic, eating like one will reduce my sugar and cholesterol (I think I've said that before).

Mindless Eating

I generally spend Saturdays doing homework but I got off easy this week. No papers to write, not a lot of reading, so I was finished in an hour. When I finished what little homework I had, I started watching a movie. It's actually nice to sit back and enjoy a movie without any interruptions. During this time, not only did I thoroughly enjoy the movie, I also realized that I wanted something to eat just because I was sitting in front of the television.

Progress

It's only been a few days since I got my test results back and I'm already down almost 2 pounds! I can't tell you how excited I was to see a loss on the scale this morning. I've been really surprised that I haven't been craving my usual crap; maybe it's because now I know and understand just how bad it is for me. Generally, when Mother Nature visits, I want sweets and salty foods. But, this time is completely different.

Reward Program

The hubs and I were talking this afternoon about setting goals and rewards and we came up with a plan that I totally love! You see, I'm the type of person who wants instant gratification but I know I can't have that with weight loss. However, I can be rewarded for my efforts (other than being healthy). So here's what we've come up with...

Finding Peace

As anyone can imagine, yesterday was difficult for me but it's amazing what a good night's sleep can do. My wonderful husband let me sleep in this morning while he got the boys up and ready for school. Is he amazing or what? When I got up this morning, my mind immediately went to yesterday's events but not in a bad way. I feel great considering everything I'm dealing with.

No Choice

I went to the doctor last week and got some blood work done. My results were due in today and I've been stressing about it for days. Last week didn't leave me much time to think about it because I was so busy but it's been on my mind a lot since Sunday. Anyway, I go to the doctor's office this morning and learned that I no longer have a choice.

Paying For It...

Last week so busy I barely had time to think. Someone had an appointment every day, which meant I was hardly home. The weekend was just as busy as the week and I'm really paying for it now. Friday was my birthday, which I spent cleaning the house in preparation for the party on Saturday. Saturday, of course, was busy because everyone was here to help me celebrate (I've got the best friends and family in the world!). Sunday we had a birthday party to go to and I had to write a 4 page paper for school. Sounds exhausting, doesn't it?
