Trying Something New

Trying new foods is going to be a new occurrence in my house until I reach my goal. I have to admit that I'm a little scared to try some of the recipes I've found but I saw a quote the other day that really fits - "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Neale Donald Walsch Isn't that the truth?!
Tonight's dinner was mostly new foods, or old foods with a new twist. My meat tonight was Perdue's Perfect Portions Italian Style chicken breast. I grilled them to make sure all the fat dripped off but there wasn't any in the container. My side was instant brown rice, which I was scared of eating. For years I had turned my nose up to brown rice but it was really good! It has a much better flavor than white rice, which surprised me. Anyway, although it's not a veggie, my veggie tonight was Baked Parmesan Tomatoes (see recipe here).

Clockwise: Italian Style Chicken, brown rice, baked Parmesan tomato

What I wasn't expecting was to dislike the tomato. I love tomatoes, Parmesan and oregano and this little thing smelled just like pizza when it was in the oven. Talk about being disappointed! But, I can say that I tried it.

I'm not sure what tomorrow's dinner will be but I've got many recipes from which to choose. Whatever I choose, I'll be sure to add photos and recipes.
