Schedule Changes

Today is my last free Saturday for the next 11 weeks because class starts on Monday. I've enjoyed myself on my mini-vacation from school (3 weeks can be longer than you think) but I'm so ready to get back to it. Not counting the class I'm starting on Monday, I only have 3 classes left before I graduate. It's going to be bittersweet for me because I've been in school since Robby was 6 months old (he'll be 8 in September).

Livid

The Supreme Court just upheld Obamacare! What is this world coming to? People are required to carry health insurance or face a penalty. Let me ask you this; if they can't afford healthcare, how can they afford the penalty? I am so livid right now! My family and I have health insurance but the point is, the government shouldn't force anyone to purchase anything. Instead, why not work on lowering healthcare costs? Seriously, an aspirin doesn't need to cost $3!

Feeling Better

I woke up this morning feeling so much better. The hubs and I took the boys to their dentist appointment and ran a few errands while we were out. Before we left, I put on my makeup and styled my hair. The makeup lasted but the hair didn't because we rode with the windows down to enjoy the weather. I've also decided to grow out my hair, which should be interesting because I've kept it short for so many years.

Not Feeling It

My last post was about things I'm going to do to makeover my lifestyle but I'm just not feeling it much right now. Today started off great because I spoke with a dear friend today about taking a trip to New York City later this year. We're looking into having a group of us go up together and make on hell of a day of it! NYC may not be ready for us!

Makeover

I'm sure you've noticed the change in the blog recently and that's not the only change I have in store. This weekend has made me think about many different things I can do to makeover myself and my life. I've had plenty of time to think lately because I haven't had to run myself ragged with work, housework, and homework.  School isn't in session right now so I've had a lot of downtime. That isn't necessarily a good thing.

New Edition

I'd like you all to meet the newest member of our family, Chewy. We found her a few weeks ago under the house and couldn't leave her outside. So, we brought her in and, while she was scared at first, she's adjusted beautifully. Keep reading to see pics.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Today is the official start of summer and Delmarva is certainly feeling the heat. The air temperature is in the upper 90s and the humidity is unreal! But, that's how our summers are. We don't have 4 seasons here; we either have Winter, Summer, and Fall or Winter, Spring, and Summer. The days of opening windows and feeling the breeze are very limited. Enough of the weather report; I'm sure you didn't come here to read about that.

Feeling Renewed

I'm sitting on the deck this evening while my guys are splashing in the pool. It's been such a nice day and this evening is fantastic! The heat comes on tomorrow with the heat index between 105 and 115 degrees. This is supposed to last for the rest of the week so I know I'll definitely be in the pool. I checked my email a little while ago and there was a new video from Marlena! I love her videos and this one was no different.

OMG

I mentioned yesterday that the first book I'm reading for my new goal is "Smart Women Know When to Say No". Well, all I can say is OMG! Dr. Kevin Leman definitely knows what he's talking about. Although I'm only into the first part of the book, I can totally relate to what's being said. I usually don't read the introduction but this one jumped out at me and I had to read it. If you're a people pleaser of any kind, I highly recommend this book!

Time for a Change

Image: FreeDigitalPhotos.net
Okay, people, it's time for a change. I've been sitting around this house all day piddling with this or that, which has given me time to think about some things. I've come to the realization that I'm just not happy. I'm happy with my life but not my current situation. Who has the ability to change that? No one but myself and that's exactly what I intend to do!

Epiphany

Things have been rough around here, to say the least, but I've really been taking inventory of myself and the resources available to me. I can believe I slipped back into old habits but I'm disappointed that I did it. I was vegging out on the couch the other day and came across a movie on the Lifetime Movie Network called "Queen Sized". I scrolled over to get the details of the movie to see what it was about (at first I thought it was going to be about Queen Latifah). It was about an overweight high school girl running for homecoming queen.

Barely There

I know it's been over a month since my last post. Things have been too crazy around here. As a result, I'm hanging off the wagon. I haven't totally fallen off but I'm close. Argh! My husband had to have another surgery and I'm preparing for the last day of school [insert sobbing here]. I haven't weighed myself in I don't know how long; I haven't even thought about it. It's probably because I know I'm barely hanging on the wagon.
