Back to It

I've been a little off for the past few days but I'm getting back into my groove. I have some specific goals to accomplish by July and October and I'm going to bust my hump to make sure I accomplish them. These goals are important to me for a number of reasons but mainly because I want to feel better about myself.

In July, we're planning a mini-vacation to the beach and I want to be a little lighter so I'm more comfortable on the rides. Last summer when we took the kids to a local carnival, I was slapped in the face by reality when riding the Scrambler was very uncomfortable. I don't want a repeat of that this year when we go. I think that even if I lost 10 pounds, I'd be more comfortable on the rides. But, I'm not stopping at 10 pounds; that's a drop in the bucket compared to what I want to lose. I know July isn't that far but I'm confident I can lose enough to be comfortable. That is, if I stick to my plan.

October is taking us to Illinois for a friend's wedding and I'd love to be able to buy something new to wear. October is another 6 months (6 months from today to be exact) and I'd love to be down at least 30 pounds by then. Dropping 30 pounds means going down about 2 dress sizes, which is very exciting!

Tomorrow is the kick off day and I'm really worried I won't be able to stay on track. I'm thinking about making a chart (based on losing 1-2 pounds per week) so I can see where I should be. The more I think about it, the more I know that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to create the chart in Excel so I can use functions instead of manually calculating the data. Once I get it created and perfected, I'll post it so everyone can take advantage of it.

I'm going to end this post now and get working on the chart. I'd love to be able to have it finalized by tomorrow so I can start using it ASAP.
