Natural Acne Cleansers

For as long as I can remember I’ve dealt with oily skin and acne. Naturally, I’ve tried just about every treatment under the sun only to find that they just don’t work. I don’t give up easily so I’m still searching for the end-all, be-all in acne treatments and I think I’ve found a few to try.

Natural Lemon Juice Cleanser

Yep, that says lemon juice. Some of you may have heard of this in which case means I’m slow. When I was younger, I used to use lemon juice in my hair to lighten it but it never crossed my mind to use it on my face. I can imagine this is going to sting but, hey, so does Listerine. I’m going to take a cotton pad and moisten it with 3-4 drops of lemon juice*.

Then, I’m going to wipe the cotton pad all over my face, careful to avoid my eyes for obvious reasons. My plan is to use this every night after I was my face, leave it on all night, and wash my face first thing in the morning. If I find that straight lemon juice is too harsh for my skin, I can dilute it with water before applying it to my face. You can also mix the lemon juice with sea salt (for acne-prone skin) or granulated white sugar (for normal skin) to exfoliate.

Aspirin Mask

Another all-natural treatment is an aspirin mask. All you do is take 3-4 aspirin tablets, moisten them with water and let it sit for a few minutes. The aspirin will become paste-like and then you add organic honey and mix together. Once this is mixed, apply it to your face and leave it on for about 30 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.

*I’m using bottled lemon juice
