Setting smaller goals, I'm hoping, will help me stay on track and see faster results. While the results won't necessarily be faster, psychologically, I'll feel that I'm accomplishing more with the smaller goals. My deadline for hitting 250 pounds is January 1, 2012. That gives me roughly 16 weeks to lose 20 pounds which is totally doable!
In addition to seeing "faster" results, setting smaller goals might just help me better adjust my eating and exercise habits. Instead of going from all to nothing in a day, I'll gradually learn to eat smaller portions. The more I think about this, the more I think this is really going to work this time. As long as I'm conscious of what I'm eating and being more active, I'm confident I'll stay on track.
I've also made a decision on my next dietary purchase. I'm getting the Body Media armband the end of October. I'm expecting a bonus around that time and I'm using part of it to get the armband and pay for the subscription. I'm going to wear it from the time I get out of the shower in the morning until the time I go to bed at night. My other dietary purchases include a new scale and a new food scale. I'm going digital with my food scale so there isn't any guessing.
Okay, it's time to unwind from today and spend time with my boys. Have a great night!
